Adaptive Sports Coordinator

Location: Westminster, Colorado; in-person role supporting programs throughout Colorado with occasional travel across the United States

Salary: $58,000–$60,000 per year

Adaptive Adventures delivers inclusive adaptive recreation programs and outdoor sports activities for participants with disabilities.

What you will do

• Plan and coordinate adaptive recreation programs in cycling, climbing, kayaking, paddleboarding, dragon boat racing, skiing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
• Coordinate venues, equipment, volunteers, participant recruitment, communications, registration, and event logistics.
• Deliver programs while managing safety, risk, volunteer support, participant needs, and venue setup and teardown.
• Provide direct client services, adaptive sport instruction, and participant support as needed.
• Maintain, load, unload, and repair or secure program equipment, including equipment weighing at least 100 pounds.
• Complete post-event reporting, data entry, equipment storage, and follow-up with participants, volunteers, and community partners.

Requirements

• Experience in adaptive sports, therapeutic recreation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercise or sports science, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or outdoor recreation guiding is valuable.
• Strong organizational, management, leadership, and prioritization skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to work with sponsors, event managers, volunteers, participants with special needs, board members, and program staff.
• Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends and to perform manual labor in hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, and arid conditions.
• Ability to bend, twist, lift at least 100 pounds, and assist with participant transfers.
• Valid driver’s license required.
