Specialist - Cash App & Receivables (Insurance Accounting)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary onshore escalation point for operations staff and offshore delivery teams.
• Resolve complex cash application, receivables, carrier invoice, payment, and financial discrepancy issues.
• Analyze recurring issues and improve processes, task efficiency, documentation, and service consistency.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Growth, automation partners, and Business Process Owners.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, controls, regulatory compliance, and financial risk escalation processes.
• Perform quality audits, support training and knowledge sharing, and participate in user acceptance testing for system enhancements.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of cash application and receivables operations.
• 3–5+ years of insurance accounting experience in cash application and receivables.
• Proficiency with Applied Epic, agency management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of insurance accounting processes and familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, automation, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Comfort with an on-site presence in Grand Rapids to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnerships.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
