Design Engineer for Peripherals (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Metzingen / Riederich, Germany

What you will do

• Design and route cable harnesses through moving robot axes.
• Select and specify cables, connectors, and feedthroughs.
• Design mechanical interfaces including mounting flanges, covers, and seals.
• Test bend-cycle and torsion performance to ensure lifetime reliability.
• Coordinate reliability activities with suppliers.
• Create drawings and manufacturing documentation for peripherals.

Requirements

• Degree or technician qualification in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience with cable harness or peripheral design.
• Knowledge of cable carrier and torsion applications and connector systems.
• Confident use of 3D CAD.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented working style.
• Good written and spoken German and English.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics or automotive.
• Experience with cable-routing modules in 3D CAD.
