Senior Mechanisms, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany; flexible working arrangement balancing remote and on-site work.

What you will do

• Lead requirements, architectures, concepts, analyses, and technical decisions for complex space mechanisms, mechatronic systems, and robotic applications.
• Act as a technical authority across the project lifecycle, including risk assessment, problem resolution, verification, qualification, and delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary activities across mechanical, structural, thermal, electrical, software, and systems engineering.
• Lead mechanism and robotics analyses covering motorization, kinematics, tribology, drivetrain performance, and dynamic behaviour.
• Direct Assembly, Integration and Test activities, anomaly investigations, technical reviews, and qualification campaigns.
• Manage externally developed subsystems as Technical Supply Manager, coordinating suppliers, requirements flow-down, reviews, acceptance, and delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience with complex mechanisms, mechatronic systems, robotics, or aerospace products; 10+ years is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in mechanisms and drivetrain technologies, including motors, sensors, encoders, bearings, gear stages, shafts, and transmission systems.
• Experience with mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, tolerance allocation, and technical budgets.
• Experience with engineering analysis and simulation tools, preferably MATLAB/Simulink and MSC ADAMS, plus AIT, verification, qualification, and anomaly investigation.
• Fluent English is required; German language skills are an asset. Experience in technical leadership and supplier management is required.
