Precision Mechanic (CAD/CAM/CNC)

Salary: €4,147.92 net per month, excluding health insurance and pension contributions.

What you will do

• Manufacture precision mechanical components for scientific instrumentation using conventional and CNC machining and fabrication tools, with a focus on turned parts.
• Support research groups by repairing and functionally improving existing mechanical components and instruments.
• Advise engineers and designers on mechanical design manufacturability and performance.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernisation of mechanical workshop equipment.
• Manage workshop materials and tooling availability, including relationships with suppliers and contract workshops.

Requirements

• Technical training in mechanical engineering and relevant professional mechanical workshop experience.
• Extensive experience producing turned parts from metals and plastics on conventional and CNC lathes.
• Experience with quality control, workshop machine maintenance, and modern CAD, CAM, and CNC software.
• Very good technical communication skills in English and German, with German at minimum B2 level.
• Ability to solve technical problems, communicate clearly, take ownership, and deliver within agreed timeframes.

Nice to have

• Experience producing milled parts on conventional and CNC milling machines.
• Experience supervising or training colleagues or trainees in a mechanical workshop.
• Experience with plastic shaping and plastic adhesive procedures.
• Experience supporting or coordinating mechanical workshop operations.
