Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Automotive)

Location: On-site at an automotive manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas, United States. The 12-week internship runs from May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available. Relocation assistance is not available.

What you will do

• Collect cycle-time data and implement improvement ideas in production and warehouse operations.
• Apply lean manufacturing concepts, including e-Kanban, pull systems, and one-piece flow.
• Support daily improvement of OEE, FPY, scrap, and other production KPIs.
• Develop process procedures and document new products and processes.
• Identify critical process parameters and support process capability improvements.
• Document spare parts, support downtime reduction, and assist with new product and process qualification.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Prior engineering or automotive manufacturing internship or work experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial environments, data analysis, reporting, or process improvement.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment and interest in an engineering career.
