Sr. Manager, US Government Programs

Location: Remote US; travel within the United States is required as programs demand, with occasional international travel and on-site presence for customer relationships or program milestones.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year, subject to local market, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of U.S. government programs from contract kickoff and solution delivery through proof-of-concept execution, operational deployment, and ongoing support.
• Translate contracts and statements of work into executable plans with milestones, deliverables, acceptance criteria, ownership, and accountability.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, contractual commitments, technical risks, documentation, reporting, invoicing, and compliance artifacts across concurrent programs.
• Act as the primary customer contact and coordinate Legal, Finance, Product, Science, Engineering, Customer Success, and Business Development.
• Support government opportunity reviews, proposal responses, RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and proof-of-concept scoping before commitments are made.
• Build program tracking, governance frameworks, and reporting standards while providing clear updates and risk assessments to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on program or project management experience delivering complex technical programs for or with U.S. government customers.
• Direct experience with U.S. government agencies, procurement, contracting, compliance requirements, and agency-specific decision processes.
• Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end delivery, including building execution structures and processes in environments without extensive institutional support.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs across agencies, contracts, and compliance environments, with strong cross-functional influence skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to communicate credibly with senior government officials.
• Eligibility for security clearance and authorization to access U.S.-controlled technology; the role is restricted to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and protected individuals unless required licenses are obtained.

Nice to have

• Experience with weather, climate, earth observation, or environmental monitoring technologies.
• Familiarity with SaaS or Data-as-a-Service delivery models in government contexts.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFARS and experience with RFP, RFQ, RFI, or other federal procurement paths.
• Experience working with prime contractors, subcontractors, or systems integrators.
• Commercial acumen or experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
