Vice President of Engineering – Wireless (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; hybrid work based out of the San Jose headquarters

What you will do

• Own the engineering roadmap, architecture, and delivery for wireless hardware, firmware, software, controllers, and cloud management platforms.
• Lead, mentor, and scale a multidisciplinary organization of engineering directors, managers, and individual contributors across hardware, software, firmware, and RF engineering.
• Translate market requirements and customer feedback into technical strategy and product roadmaps with Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success.
• Drive agile delivery, CI/CD, quality assurance, security-by-design, and AI tool adoption across the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure performance, scalability, reliability, regulatory compliance, and certifications across the wireless portfolio.
• Manage budgets, vendor and ODM relationships, resource planning, executive reviews, board updates, and customer briefings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 12–15+ years of engineering experience in networking or wireless technology, including 8+ years in engineering leadership roles managing managers.
• Deep knowledge of Wi-Fi/WLAN technologies, 802.11 standards, RF engineering, wireless controllers, and embedded networking systems.
• Experience shipping complex hardware and software products at scale and building distributed engineering teams, including offshore or nearshore development centers.
• Strong understanding of cloud-managed networking architectures and SaaS delivery models.
• Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to balance long-term technical vision with near-term delivery commitments.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Experience with Wi-Fi 8, Agentic AI, private wireless, or cellular convergence.
• Experience with FCC, CE, Wi-Fi Alliance, federal, and country-specific certifications.
