Software Engineer (Kotlin) - Transport Planning Optimization (all genders)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid working model with up to 60% remote work per week. Work from abroad is available for up to 30 working days per year. Relocation assistance is available subject to prior agreement.

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, operate, and improve performant fullstack solutions for transport planning optimization.
• Build backend services with Kotlin and frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
• Develop features covering transport forecasts, scheduling, execution, and settlement using real-time data and advanced algorithms.
• Plan sprints and roadmaps by breaking feature requests into manageable stories and tasks.
• Test and deploy production-ready features using continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with teams and stakeholders on priorities, timelines, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Professional software engineering experience with JVM-based languages and proven proficiency in Kotlin.
• Understanding of SQL and high-performance database architectures.
• Experience with modern frontend development using TypeScript and React.
• Experience designing and implementing APIs within microservice landscapes deployed on cloud platforms.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, development, build, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Strong reliability, ownership, analytical thinking, communication skills, and willingness to share knowledge.
