Freelance Subtitling Linguist for English into Polish

hirify.global provides content localization, distribution, and technology services for media and entertainment clients, including subtitling, accessibility services, dubbing, and related language workflows.

What you will do

• Create subtitle files through conforming, translating, adapting, proofreading, and quality control assignments.
• Translate and adapt SDH cues, including speaker identification, sound effects, music cues, and other accessibility elements.
• Use cloud-based subtitling software, glossary tools, client style guides, and accessibility specifications.
• Handle file rejections, make corrections, and maintain accuracy across changing client requirements.
• Protect the confidentiality of sensitive content and deliver work on schedule.

Requirements

• Native-level Polish and excellent English language skills.
• At least two years of subtitle and/or SDH translation, adaptation, proofreading, or quality control experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of SDH conventions, including speaker IDs, sound-effect descriptions, and accessibility-focused subtitling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow technical specifications, accessibility requirements, and style guides for multiple content types.
• Ability to work flexible hours and meet rigorous delivery schedules.

• Knowledge of additional languages.
