Patient Care Technician-Psychiatric Full Time Nights

Location: 12251 S. 80th Av., Palos Heights, Illinois, United States. Onsite, full-time night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with alternating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $17.05–$23.02 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN, including monitoring vital signs, measuring blood glucose, and recording intake and output.
• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, eating, and other activities of daily living.
• Observe and report abnormal physical, mental, or emotional changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support unit workflow.
• Answer calls and coordinate information between patients, families, nursing staff, and related departments.
• Validate admission, discharge, and census information as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician, or completion of one semester of clinical nursing school.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, communicate clearly, and function under stressful conditions.
• Ability to work onsite in Palos Heights, Illinois, on the overnight schedule with alternating weekends and holidays.

Nice to have

• Phlebotomy experience.
• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program or phlebotomy course.
