What you will do

• Update the local website and curate content from print, television, digital, blog, and social media sources.
• Report breaking news, local stories, trending topics, and enterprise reports.
• Write engaging headlines and package content using headline testing, audience metrics, and observed traffic patterns.
• Build homepage layouts and curate content to increase page views, time on site, engagement, and repeat visits.
• Produce short videos, select effective photos, and promote news content across social media and broadcast channels.
• Collaborate with newsroom staff and management on enterprise content and audience growth.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in digital content and journalism.
• Ability to research, conduct interviews, and write original news articles.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP Style.
• Strong multitasking, communication, organization, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of Google Analytics and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Schedule flexibility for nights and weekends.

Nice to have

• Chartbeat experience.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and Photoshop.
• Experience producing short videos and selecting news photography.
