Creative Play Lab - Prototypes Internship (Prototyping)

Location: Billund Project House, Billund, Denmark; availability to move to or commute to Billund for the full internship

hirify.global develops toys, models, and play experiences through product innovation, emerging technologies, and hands-on prototyping.

What you will do

• Use CNC machines, milling machines, bandsaws, and other equipment to create physical prototypes.
• Develop new hirify.global elements and prototypes using plastic, wood, metal, textiles, paper, and cardboard.
• Invent practical solutions to machining and manufacturability challenges.
• Explore new play opportunities by making, testing, gathering feedback, and iterating on designs.
• Suggest new prototyping trends and techniques while helping colleagues solve design challenges.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, engineers, artists, and researchers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled full time in an art, design, engineering, or other craft discipline.
• Available for the entire internship from February 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025.
• Available to move to or commute to Billund, Denmark for the internship.
• Conversational or intermediate English.
• Hands-on approach with a strong interest in learning by making.
• Experience with some of CAD/CAM software, Adobe tools, graphic print programs, 3D printing, milling, or CNC machining.

Nice to have

• Portfolio demonstrating personal projects, interests, hobbies, and practical making experience.
• Experience working with diverse materials and prototyping equipment.
