Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Leuven, Belgium; onsite customer work with 50% travel

Salary: €49,600–€68,200 per year

What you will do

• Install, maintain, repair, retrofit, and upgrade hirify.global semiconductor equipment at the customer site.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Troubleshoot fab issues using digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques.
• Respond to escalations, communicate with engineers in other locations, and participate in escalation conference calls.
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure equipment performance, operational continuity, and customer satisfaction.
• Identify process gaps and propose improvements to operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
• Practical hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
• Ability to lead without authority, influence stakeholders, and build effective internal and external customer relationships.
• Knowledge of structured problem-solving methods and process improvement.
• Ability to work in clean-room conditions, use personal protective equipment and hand or power tools, and perform physically demanding tasks including standing, climbing, lifting up to 35 lbs., and working at height.

Nice to have

• Semiconductor industry experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in customer or field service support, or a related technical field.
