Applied AI Engineer

Location: Fully remote within the United States; U.S. citizenship required. Access to information not releasable to foreign nationals is required.

Salary: $113,000–$169,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate production AI agents using RAG, tool use, function calling, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Develop document-processing and OCR workflows for technical manuals, contracts, Excel workbooks, and scanned content.
• Build process-automation solutions for order processing, purchase-order review, compliance checks, pricing, and like-parts categorization.
• Deploy solutions in Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Functions, storage, identity, Azure OpenAI, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring.
• Integrate AI solutions with Oracle ERP, Salesforce, HFM, CPQ, and quoting platforms through secure APIs and data pipelines.
• Lead technical delivery, define requirements, establish development and evaluation standards, and track solution impact and ROI.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and supporting production software, automation, or AI solutions, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and production LLM applications, including RAG, tool use, function calling, and orchestration.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, REST API design, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, Git, CI/CD, and Docker experience.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; candidates must provide proof of citizenship and attest that they do not hold dual citizenship.
• No security clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Azure Government Cloud, GCC-High, FedRAMP, IL4/IL5, CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, STIG, or RMF experience.
• Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, vector databases, embedding models, and LLM evaluation.
• Experience with EDI, Power Platform, Power BI, Oracle, Salesforce, HFM, CPQ, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/.NET, Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Manufacturing, defense, maritime, aftermarket services, Lean, Six Sigma, product ownership, or ROI-tracking experience.
