Junior Structural CAD Designer

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States. This is primarily an in-office role, with remote work available when needed. Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not provided.

What you will do

• Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Develop conceptual layouts, design details, and drawings from specifications and detailed notes.
• Check drawings before release and coordinate with designers, engineers, and other disciplines.
• Perform clash detection using models from multiple disciplines.
• Verify onsite conditions and dimensions for existing facilities.
• Support project scope, quantity, cost, schedule, safety, and formal engineering review requirements.

Requirements

• Recent or soon-to-be college graduate with little or no professional experience and relevant skills.
• Preferred Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; an official or unofficial transcript is required with the application.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D structural design and drawing software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Bentley MicroStation.
• Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, critical-thinking, creative problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Knowledge of structural design standards, regulations, and codes is an asset; previous co-op or internship experience is also an asset.
