CNC Applications Manager (Aerospace)

STS Aerospace is an aerospace manufacturing and engineering company developing fluid conveyance solutions for commercial aviation, defense, and space applications.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining centers, CNC lathes, and mill-turn machines using Mastercam or comparable CAD/CAM software.
• Develop machining processes from drawing review through production release for complex, tight-tolerance components and difficult-to-machine materials.
• Lead cutting-tool, workholding, setup, and machining-strategy applications to improve productivity, tool life, surface finish, dimensional control, and machine utilization.
• Support CNC setup, first-run prove-outs, first-piece inspections, production launches, troubleshooting, and corrective actions on the shop floor.
• Lead cycle-time reduction and continuous-improvement projects while maintaining safety, quality, process capability, and product integrity.
• Provide technical direction and training to CNC programmers, setup personnel, machinists, and manufacturing support employees.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on CNC manufacturing experience in programming, setup, prove-out, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
• Advanced proficiency with Mastercam or comparable CAD/CAM software, including deburring.
• Experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, and mill-turn machines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, tolerances, surface-finish requirements, and machining specifications.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, holders, coatings, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Experience machining complex, precision, or tight-tolerance components and managing multiple technical priorities independently.
