Software Engineer – Product Analytics Platform

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate the Analytics API and infrastructure for collecting raw product analytics events across Aura.
• Define schemas, integration contracts, validation, backwards compatibility, and reliable event ingestion.
• Build an integration layer that enables product teams to send analytics events without coupling to downstream infrastructure.
• Drive adoption across engineering teams through technical guidance, documentation, and collaboration.
• Evaluate analytics and data-stack tools such as Segment and BigQuery while keeping product analytics separate from billing concerns.
• Partner with downstream data-pipeline engineers and shape the platform through RFCs and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Strong backend software engineering experience with Go as the primary language.
• Experience building and operating APIs, services, ingestion systems, or microservices used by other teams.
• Experience designing well-defined APIs and integration contracts, including schemas, validation, and backwards compatibility.
• Some experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and comfort working across backend and frontend codebases; the role is primarily backend-focused.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, data ingestion, or tools such as Segment and BigQuery.
• Ability to work independently, make pragmatic technical decisions, write RFCs, and communicate clearly across teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability, including tracing, logging, and metrics.
• Experience integrating with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with product analytics, event tracking, or telemetry systems.
