Network Security Engineer (Firewall/WAF)

Location: Hybrid in Porto, Portugal, two days per week. Candidates must be based in Portugal and hold Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure solutions.
• Work with firewalls, web application firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and IDS/IPS solutions.
• Apply automation and DevOps practices to network security operations.
• Work autonomously and collaboratively to analyze and solve complex security problems.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience as a Network Security Engineer.
• Expert-level knowledge of at least one relevant technology, preferably Fortinet firewalls or Ubika WAF, or alternatives such as Palo Alto, Check Point, F5, Infoblox, or Trellix/McAfee IPS.
• Solid knowledge of DNS and IPS/IDS solutions.
• Good communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent English at B2 level required.
• Hybrid availability in Porto and Portuguese or EU citizenship or a valid work permit required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansible and Python.
• French at B2 level.
