TL;DR
Senior HR Business Partner (Manufacturing): Shaping the people agenda for a Trafford Park manufacturing site, covering employee and industrial relations, workforce planning, talent, performance, wellbeing, and organisational change with an accent on UK employment law, trade union partnership, and collective pay negotiations. Focus on translating operational priorities into workforce strategy, leading consultation and transformation, and strengthening capability, engagement, and inclusive leadership.

Location: Trafford Park Factory, Manchester, United Kingdom; site-based, normally four to five days per week. Regular visibility across the manufacturing site is required, with occasional UK or international travel.

What you will do

  • Partner with the Site Director and operational leaders to align the people agenda with site strategy, performance and transformation goals.
  • Develop workforce, organisation, capability, culture and engagement plans using people data and external insight.
  • Lead employee and industrial relations, including trade union relationships, collective consultation, negotiation and annual pay reviews.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary and grievance cases, with fair and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Lead workforce planning, organisational change, talent and succession initiatives, while coaching leaders on performance and inclusive leadership.
  • Collaborate with P&O Centres of Excellence and contribute to UKI and global projects.

Requirements

  • Significant HR Business Partner experience in a complex manufacturing, industrial or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, collective consultation and industrial relations.
  • Experience partnering with recognised trade unions and employee representatives.
  • Hands-on experience with collective pay negotiations, annual pay reviews, organisational change and business transformation.
  • Ability to coach, influence and constructively challenge senior leaders while moving between strategy and delivery.
  • Fluent business English and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while following site safety, hygiene and operational requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience in FMCG, continuous improvement or operational excellence.
  • Exposure to automation, site expansion, culture transformation or regional and global P&O projects.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience; Chartered CIPD status is desirable.
  • Additional languages.
