R&D Intern (2027)

Location: Hybrid in Libertyville, Illinois, US; office attendance required at least 4 days per week. Relocation and housing assistance are not provided.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on education and skills.

What you will do

• Support laboratory testing, sample preparation, data collection, and product evaluations.
• Assist with designing, executing, and documenting experiments according to established procedures.
• Analyze experimental and user perception data and communicate findings through reports and presentations.
• Maintain accurate records of experiments, procedures, observations, analyses, and results.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists to connect laboratory measurements with user experience and product functionality.
• Help troubleshoot testing challenges, maintain laboratory organization and equipment, and manage inventory.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in product development, research, testing, or evaluation.
• Hands-on laboratory, research, or project experience through coursework or academic research.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work from and attend the Libertyville office at least 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with statistical software.
