Intern, IT Data Analytics (2027) (Cloud Data & Analytics)

Location: Hybrid in Libertyville, Illinois, with a minimum of four office days per week. The role is listed as WFH (US6) and is limited to the United States. No relocation or housing assistance is provided.

Salary: $22.00–$26.00 per hour, based on education and skills.

What you will do

• Build, test, and manage data pipelines integrating SAP and non-SAP sources into Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
• Transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets using SQL and Python, and support dimensional models and star schemas.
• Develop and refine Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Support cloud data architecture initiatives involving OneLake, Fabric workspaces, SAP Business Data Cloud, SAP Datasphere, and legacy SAP BW modernization.
• Implement data quality, governance, lineage, security, tagging, and FinOps-related controls.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, analysts, stakeholders, and global colleagues to troubleshoot pipelines, queries, reconciliations, and reporting defects.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's program in computer science, data engineering, information systems, or a related field, with plans to return to school after the internship.
• Foundational knowledge of databases and data concepts, with required SQL skills including SELECT queries and JOINs.
• Experience with at least one programming or scripting language for data handling; Python is preferred.
• Exposure to data visualization, ETL pipelines, databases, or cloud platforms through coursework, projects, or self-directed learning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Libertyville, Illinois at least four days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or comparable cloud services.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, data engineering projects, data warehouses, or big data processing.
• Exposure to SAP systems, ERP data, SAP BW, SAP HANA, or SAP Datasphere.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, statistical analysis, Python data libraries, or forecasting.
• Attention to detail and demonstrated enthusiasm for learning emerging cloud data technologies.
