Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 – Data Engineer Intern (Hartford)

Location: Hybrid position in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

What you will do

• Build and support data pipelines that ingest, transform, and prepare data for business and analytical use.
• Work with structured and unstructured data for analytics, reporting, automation, and AI-driven solutions.
• Apply Python, SQL, ETL processes, and cloud technologies to develop reliable data assets.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance through profiling, validation, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
• Use AI tools such as Copilot to support data solution development and advanced analytics.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student graduating in May 2028 with a Bachelor's or Master's degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, or another STEM-related field.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL/ELT, data transformation, data profiling, data quality, and data modeling.
• Exposure to Snowflake, GitHub, relational databases, data warehouses, and AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and critical-thinking skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship; STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement is not supported.

Nice to have

• Experience with Tableau, dashboards, reporting, data mining, or business intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, generative AI tools, LLMs, NLP, or AI-supported data foundations.
• Exposure to Agile teams, sprint delivery, or collaborative product-based work.
