Extrusion I - 3rd Shift (Aluminum Extrusion)

Location: Reed City, Michigan, United States; onsite, 3rd shift

What you will do

• Work as part of a cross-trained extrusion press crew performing die setting, stretching, sawing, and saw tail operations.
• Change and prepare dies, verify tooling temperature and clearances, and minimize heat loss and production downtime.
• Advance and stretch extrusions to established dimensions, use the HMI program to measure results, and adjust settings when products are out of tolerance.
• Cut extrusions to sales-order specifications, transfer materials without damage, move products to ovens, and scrap excess material.
• Perform quality checks, identify scratches, die lines, incomplete stretches, quantity issues, and other non-conforming products, and notify the supervisor.
• Complete EPICS records, log sheets, gauge readings, and production documentation while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for at least 8 hours and repeatedly lift at least 50 pounds while bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
• Ability to read tape measures, work instructions, micrometers, and calipers, and demonstrate basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to use small hand tools, including hammers and screwdrivers.
• Excellent attendance, reliable transportation, and crane operations training.
• Ability to work safely while using required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, heat- and cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.
