Expert Backend Engineer (OpenStack)

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only from within Hungary due to European taxation regulations and customer data security requirements.

What you will do

• Develop and enhance the Open Telekom Cloud public cloud platform.
• Solve complex problems in the daily operation of a hyper-scale cloud backend.
• Work with hardware-oriented infrastructure and support platform operations.
• Develop and operate monitoring and quality assurance solutions.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using common automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with platform and OpenStack ecosystem partners in an international specialist team.

Requirements

• Completed technical, engineering, or scientific studies, or comparable professional training.
• At least 4 years of professional IT experience focused on modern cloud technologies.
• Very good knowledge of software-defined networks, routing, firewalls, and physical networks.
• Extensive experience with infrastructure automation, Linux, and network-related services.
• Knowledge of agile development processes and the ability to assess technical solutions creatively.
• Fluent written and spoken English; the role must be performed from Hungary.

Nice to have

• OpenStack experience.
• Programming experience in open-source projects.
