Field Service Technical Specialist (Automotive)

What you will do

• Support new product design by analyzing user requirements, defining specifications, and performing field and simulation testing.
• Provide technical support to customers, resellers, sales teams, installation partners, and installers.
• Define installation requirements, wiring schematics, product documentation, guides, videos, and training materials.
• Create installer certification tests, evaluate installer performance, conduct audits, and maintain installation quality standards.
• Perform field installations for demonstrations, training, and pilot projects, and resolve installer issues.
• Source installation partners, support field-service invoicing and ticketing, and contribute to global strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience as an installation field-service specialist in telematics, automotive, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, serial data interfaces, and hardware-software integration.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components and experience with automotive/electronics test equipment and hand tools.
• Knowledge of cellular, GPS, serial-data, communications, and network systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, build relationships, solve technical problems, manage contractor relationships, and travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
