Field Service Technical Specialist (Automotive)

Location: Madrid, Spain. Flexible hybrid working model with in-person and virtual work; international travel of up to 40% required.

What you will do

• Support new product design by analyzing user requirements, defining specifications, and conducting field and simulation testing.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, resellers, installation partners, and installers.
• Define installation requirements and wiring schematics, troubleshoot field issues, and perform installations for demonstrations, training, and pilot projects.
• Create installer certification tests, evaluate installer performance, conduct audits, and maintain installation quality standards.
• Update product documentation, installation guides, training modules, videos, and photo-based instructional materials.
• Source and qualify installation partners, support service processes, and contribute to improvements across field installation systems.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent experience.
• Experience as an installation field service specialist in telematics, automotive, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with OBD and CAN communications, SAE vehicle standards, serial data interfaces, and hardware and software integration.
• In-depth knowledge of automotive electronic components and experience with automotive/electronics test equipment and hand tools.
• Knowledge of cellular, GPS, serial data, communications systems, and networks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, relationship-building, multitasking, and customer service skills.
