Manager, Trade Controls (SAP GTS)

Location: Hybrid role based in the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. Limited domestic and international travel of approximately 15–20% is required.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global trade controls strategies aligned with supply chain objectives and transformation initiatives.
• Provide expertise on import/export controls, sanctions, customs compliance, and trade regulations.
• Embed trade compliance requirements into processes, systems, and operating models.
• Standardize and continuously improve trade compliance controls and governance across regions.
• Assess trade-related risks and develop mitigation strategies for uninterrupted global supply.
• Support network optimization, supplier transitions, new product introductions, and cross-functional initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, international trade, logistics, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in global trade compliance, supply chain, or related functions with international exposure.
• Strong knowledge of global trade controls, import/export regulations, and customs requirements.
• At least 3 years of hands-on SAP GTS experience managing sanctioned-party lists, legal regulations, export licenses, and block resolution.
• Experience leading or supporting cross-functional initiatives in a global, matrixed organization.
• Proficiency in English is required; the role is based in the United States, Ireland, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced trade compliance or supply chain certification.
• Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience with supply chain transformation, digital enablement, operating model redesign, customs brokerage systems, Power BI, and advanced Excel functions.
• People leadership or project leadership experience.
• Additional language proficiency and professional trade compliance or customs certification.
