Staff Software Engineer (eCommerce)

What you will do

• Drive technical strategy across multiple teams and domains for global eCommerce platforms.
• Design scalable and resilient architectures spanning customer-facing experiences and backend operations.
• Own critical technical decisions and balance engineering excellence with pragmatic delivery.
• Champion cloud-native development, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, DevOps, cybersecurity, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster knowledge sharing, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
• Represent engineering with product, business, external partner, and vendor stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring senior engineers in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with Node.js, React or an equivalent framework, and an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, Infrastructure as Code, microservices, API design, CI/CD, observability tools such as DataDog, and automated testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence peers and leadership.
• Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent English required; the role is based in Barcelona with hybrid work.
