Web Software Developer Intern

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with 1–2 days per week at the downtown Toronto office

What you will do

• Build production-quality web applications and backend services for Genesys Cloud Workforce Management.
• Develop responsive single-page interfaces using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies.
• Implement scalable and reliable cloud functionality with AWS services.
• Deliver product enhancements, bug fixes, unit tests, and test automation.
• Collaborate through peer reviews, agile development, and technical problem solving across the software development lifecycle.
• Improve code quality, development efficiency, usability, scalability, and production readiness.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of responsive single-page web application development and modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable web technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS technologies or fundamental cloud computing concepts.
• Understanding of testing, debugging, version control, and software development fundamentals.
• Availability for an 8–16 month internship or co-op term beginning in May or June 2027.

Nice to have

• Experience with LESS, Knockout, Vue.js, Mocha, Chai, or Webpack.
• Familiarity with Java, Clojure, or similar backend languages.
• Exposure to AWS services including EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, or SQS.
• Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jenkins.

Hiring process
