TL;DR
Software Engineer (IoT/AWS): Building and evolving cloud-native platforms and services for connected healthcare, including device lifecycle management, connectivity, therapy data access, and internal support tools with an accent on scalable full-stack development, reliability, and operational excellence. Focus on designing AWS applications, implementing event-driven and infrastructure-as-code architectures, and maintaining secure systems throughout the full product lifecycle.
Location: Remote-first, with candidates expected to live within reasonable driving distance of the Halifax office for occasional in-person collaboration

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and support cloud-native applications and services on AWS.
- Build solutions for device registration, connectivity, lifecycle management, cloud integration, therapy data access, and internal support tools.
- Develop backend services and user-facing applications across the full stack.
- Collaborate with product managers, delivery managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners on planning, estimation, and solution design.
- Champion automated testing, performance validation, secure coding, CI/CD, observability, infrastructure as code, and resilient system architecture.
- Review code, contribute to technical explorations, mentor interns and early-career engineers, and own products throughout their lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience developing applications with Java, Python, and React.
- Experience building secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant cloud-native applications.
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and Docker.
- Experience with messaging technologies, Kubernetes, containers, relational and NoSQL databases, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Experience with CI/CD, debugging, testing, observability platforms, and resolving security vulnerabilities.
- Experience using AI tools to improve engineering delivery while maintaining quality, traceability, and engineering standards.
Nice to have
- AWS Developer or DevOps certification.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, EventBridge, Timestream, or modern test automation tools.
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies.
- Experience in a regulated medical or healthcare environment.
