Domain Lead Architect (Cloud)

Location: NSW, Australia; hybrid arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote or from home

What you will do

• Develop and execute long-term cloud domain network strategies aligned with business goals and the technology roadmap.
• Design and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure across private and public cloud environments.
• Lead platform owners and engineering teams through major projects, deployments, knowledge transfer, and technical delivery.
• Review high-level designs through Networks Architecture Review Boards and drive actions through approval.
• Contribute to security workshops and strategies, including cloud network protection, firewalls, and security protocols.
• Partner with vendors, technology teams, and business stakeholders to evaluate technologies, resolve complex network issues, and deliver continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional engineering experience in telecommunications, including at least 7 years with cloud technologies, platforms, and protocols.
• Strong knowledge of mobile data networks, telecommunications networking, carrier environments, and fixed, mobile, and data network requirements.
• Experience with OpenStack, containerized and virtualized cloud, orchestration, microservices, NFV, Kubernetes, Docker, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Expertise in network architecture, design, and implementation, including 4G/5G, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, tunneling, NAT, access lists, and network QoS.
• Strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Technical qualification in IT, telecommunications engineering, or a related discipline.
