Staff Software Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure & Systems Engineering)

Location: Salt Lake City, United States; hybrid model with 3 days in-office and 2 days working from home or flexibly

Base salary: $130,000–$210,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate secure, highly available AWS infrastructure for the platform and products.
• Own infrastructure as code with AWS CDK or Terraform and build reliable CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Define backup, disaster recovery, data storage, and processing strategies for scalable and cost-efficient cloud systems.
• Implement centralized logging, monitoring, observability, and security guardrails across the development lifecycle.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows while resolving complex distributed-systems issues.
• Develop AI DevOps practices for deploying, monitoring, and operating AI-enabled systems and pipelines in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Significant systems or infrastructure engineering experience with deep hands-on AWS expertise.
• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or an equivalent language.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, GitHub, and infrastructure as code; AWS CDK is preferred and Terraform is acceptable.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery, data architecture, observability, workflow automation, and debugging distributed systems.
• Understanding of AI governance and AI security risks, including access controls, prompt injection, and secure AI tooling.
