Formulation Scientist (Nanoparticles)

Location: Redmond, Washington, United States; onsite position

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 annual total compensation, including bonus

What you will do

• Develop lipid and polymeric nanoparticle formulations for targeted delivery of mRNA, DNA, RNA, and peptides.
• Develop methods to characterize and evaluate the physical properties of antibody-decorated lipid nanoparticles.
• Develop high-throughput nanoparticle preparation and downstream processes to improve production efficiency.
• Produce formulations and support in-vitro functional assays for RNA projects.
• Prepare study protocols, technical reports, and SOPs for mRNA product development.
• Collaborate with customers, scientific meeting participants, and IP counsel while monitoring supplies and maintaining laboratory areas.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• More than 4 years of relevant experience in nucleic acid delivery, including hands-on lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization.
• Strong knowledge of lipid and polymeric nanoparticle delivery technologies and extensive nanoparticle production and analytical characterization experience.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques for mRNA and protein expression, including RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry.
• Experience with RNA analytics such as RiboGreen, gel electrophoresis, and capillary electrophoresis.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with an eagerness to learn and contribute to a supportive team.
