Software Engineer, Music Search (AI/ML)

Location: Culver City, California, United States

Base pay: $205,400–$308,500 per year.

What you will do

• Design and deploy large-scale machine learning systems for search and discovery across hirify.global platforms.
• Build retrieval and ranking systems using semantics, user context, and personalization.
• Develop data processing systems, machine learning models, retrieval pipelines, and ranking systems operating at global scale.
• Analyze system and model performance, improve search recall and ranking, and conduct A/B tests.
• Develop automated tests, support continuous integration, and ensure successful production deployment.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other cross-functional teams to bring advanced search technologies into production while meeting privacy and user experience standards.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and Go for scalable distributed and machine learning systems.
• Experience with machine learning, natural language processing, information retrieval, or large language models.
• In-depth knowledge of search fundamentals, including indexing, ranking, retrieval algorithms, and big data pipelines.
• Experience with Hadoop, Java, Scala, Spark, or similar big data technologies.
• Industrial experience in search, classification, recommendation systems, or related fields, plus familiarity with A/B testing.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent practical experience, in computer science, machine learning, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with semantic retrieval, vector databases, search systems, or recommendation systems.
• Expertise in large-scale distributed and client-server systems.
• Experience developing intelligent, human-centered content discovery experiences.
