Software Engineer Graduate (Search) - 2027 Start

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $122,574–$187,200 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Optimize search quality to improve the user search experience.
• Apply information retrieval and modern machine learning techniques to search products.
• Develop query understanding, result ranking, and query recommendation systems.
• Build reliable core algorithms and backend systems for large-scale consumer applications.
• Collaborate with the search team while pursuing technically complex, high-impact ideas.

Requirements

• Completing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience developing large-scale consumer-facing services or backend services for large-scale applications.
• Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Python, Java, or Golang.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose, with attendance up to 5 days per week.
• Availability to onboard by the end of the year; graduation date and availability must be stated on the resume.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of search, recommendation, ranking, advertising, or similar domains.
• Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, backend engineering, large-scale systems, data science, or full-stack development.
• Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Flink, or similar big data frameworks.
