BigCommerce Fullstack Engineer (Ecommerce)

Location: 100% remote; work anywhere, including while being a nomad in another country

What you will do

• Build and maintain the BigCommerce storefront using Stencil themes and Storefront/Management APIs.
• Implement designer handoffs as polished, production-ready ecommerce experiences.
• Develop integrations with vendor feeds, back-office tools, payment providers, and shipping providers.
• Manage catalog structures and inventory synchronization across a broad product range.
• Troubleshoot checkout flows, product configuration logic, and site performance.
• Maintain the component library and design system while using Claude Code for development, debugging, and code review.

Requirements

• Upper-intermediate to fluent English with the ability to participate in real-time conversations.
• Approximately 3+ years of hands-on BigCommerce development experience at the mid-level.
• Hands-on fullstack experience across frontend and backend development.
• Experience with Claude Code or comparable AI-assisted development tools.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce functionality and customer-facing digital experiences.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate with a designer in an existing technical environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with headless ecommerce, luxury or premium ecommerce brands, and configurable product catalogs.
• Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, payment gateways, or shipping integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated ability.
