Full Stack Software Engineer II (Contract Role)

Location: Hybrid role based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; in-person meetings may sometimes be required. The posting also references the Madison, Wisconsin campus.

Base pay: $51.62–$77.42 CAD per hour.

What you will do

• Develop, test, document, and maintain business-critical features and applications across consoles, web, mobile, and future devices.
• Build digital commerce solutions for games, media content, subscriptions, and related hirify.global services.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and engineers to define requirements and technical approaches.
• Write unit and component tests, review pull requests and design plans, and improve code quality and development practices.
• Deploy platform experiences through CI/CD pipelines, monitor releases, analyze telemetry, and respond to production data.
• Optimize solutions for performance, accessibility, responsive design, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience instead of a degree.
• 2–3 years of experience building product experiences with UI technologies.
• Experience with JavaScript-based application development and strong technical, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to produce detailed design and development documentation.
• Commitment to robust, sustainable, high-quality code.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement and attend in-person meetings when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Jest, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, REST APIs, Docker, and multi-platform CI/CD standards.
• Experience with performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Curiosity about AI-assisted development tools or developer-efficiency automation.
