TL;DR
Fuel Components Engineer (Marine): Designing and validating marine fuel system components, including injectors, pumps, and filters, with an accent on liquid-handling systems, component specifications, and hardware testing. Focus on developing test plans, investigating failures with FMEAs and root cause analysis, and coordinating suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid workplace. Relocation is available. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Salary: $86,500–$126,800 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

  • Design and validate marine fuel system components, including injectors, pumps, and filters.
  • Define fuel system parameters and specifications and develop compatible component designs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on timing, quality, and hardware delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional communication and issue resolution across manufacturing, testing, purchasing, supplier quality, and technician teams.
  • Develop component and system test plans, write test requests, and execute validation activities.
  • Direct collaboration with CAD designers, simulation analysts, and test technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals to liquid-handling systems such as pumps, filtration, and injectors.
  • Experience with component bench testing or engine-level dynamometer testing, including instrumentation, sensor calibration, and data acquisition.
  • Experience with FMEAs, DVPs, DFSS tools, root cause analysis, and failure investigation.
  • Ability to process and report analytical and empirical data.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Catman, AVL Puma, Concerto, MATLAB, Python, Creo, or GT Suite.
  • Maintenance and fabrication skills across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with ABYC, USCG, SAE, and other fuel system standards.
