Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Bellevue Skyline Office, Bellevue, Washington, United States

Annual salary: $132,000–$264,000 in Bellevue, Washington; $143,000–$286,000 in Sunnyvale, California. Additional performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Deliver scalable infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build resilient and maintainable systems.
• Lead the full software lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Conduct system design reviews and validate architectural decisions.
• Build AI-driven applications and integrate machine learning components using multiple programming languages.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and collaborate with stakeholders on requirements and success metrics.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of software engineering experience with a relevant bachelor's degree, or 6 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation.
• Knowledge of API design, software prototyping, and software design patterns.
• Experience with full-lifecycle software development and system design reviews.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and TypeScript for integrating AI and machine learning components.
• Strong collaboration, communication, mentoring, and data-driven decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
