Data Governance Strategist (Fintech)

Target hiring range: $84,149.19–$105,186.49 per year, depending on experience and before eligible incentives.

What you will do

• Own and independently manage the enterprise data governance program, including priorities, deliverables, documentation, stakeholder engagement, and maturity improvements.
• Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, procedures, templates, inventories, glossaries, ownership records, stewardship assignments, and lineage documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional data governance initiatives with Data and Analytics, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Compliance, Risk Management, system owners, data owners, and stewards.
• Identify data quality issues, governance risks, control gaps, dependencies, and remediation actions, and coordinate documented resolution efforts.
• Create and review data flows, business process models, data requirements, use cases, testing documentation, and quality assessment practices.
• Advise business and technical stakeholders on governance practices, data protection, reporting reliability, responsible data use, and downstream impacts of system and process changes.

Requirements

• Onsite work at the Phoenix, Arizona corporate office is required.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field is preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, business analytics, operations analytics, data analytics, reporting, information systems, or related disciplines.
• 3–5 years of experience leading enterprise programs, managing cross-functional initiatives, influencing stakeholders, or serving as a subject matter expert in data governance, data management, risk, compliance, or related areas.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, enterprise data structures, reporting environments, source-system dependencies, data protection, continuous improvement, and change management.
• Strong program management, analytical, communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Certifications in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, or Data Governance.
