Clinical Documentation Manager

Location: Remote within the United States; onsite client, temporary, or corporate office travel required for approximately 15–25% of the role

Starting salary: $111,800 per year; final compensation depends on experience.

What you will do

• Manage Clinical Documentation Integrity operations supporting medical staff bylaws, regulatory requirements, DRG assurance, and physician engagement.
• Develop clinical data reports, analyze documentation and reimbursement data, and communicate findings to improve operations.
• Validate CDI quality assurance measures and support accurate department metrics and reporting.
• Establish and monitor team workflows, productivity, quality assurance, performance, and organizational requirements.
• Lead market-level steering committees, documentation improvement meetings, and collaboration with physician documentation improvement representatives.
• Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, administrators, CDI, coding, and revenue cycle leaders on documentation initiatives, standardization, education, and strategic improvement.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional experience and 3–5 years of leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) certification.
• Strong organizational, presentation, decision-making, influencing, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States and be able to travel to onsite locations as required.

Nice to have

• Advanced use of AI and experience managing teams that apply AI to process and technology improvements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint presentation creation.
