Senior Software Engineer - Core Infrastructure

Location: San Francisco, California; requires U.S. Person status and in-person onboarding at the San Francisco or Chicago office during the first week.

Salary: $165,000–$226,600 USD annual base salary for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects using Redis, Docker, Terraform, and AWS.
• Evaluate, develop, and roll out shared features and engineering frameworks.
• Operate, support, upgrade, and scale shared services as usage grows.
• Conduct design and code reviews and maintain unit and functional test coverage.
• Monitor services, troubleshoot issues, resolve performance bottlenecks, and improve system reliability.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and collaborate with architecture, QA, product, security, and operations teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of programming experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, with a focus on backend services.
• Strong understanding of multithreading, garbage collection, and memory management.
• Experience architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging large-scale cloud deployments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Ability to provide documentation establishing U.S. Person status upon hire, including U.S. citizenship, nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee status, or asylee status.
• Availability for in-person onboarding and travel to the San Francisco headquarters or Chicago office during the first employment week.
