Staff Software Engineer, Identity & Access Management Platform (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Own the technical architecture and strategy for the internal identity and access management platform.
• Design, build, and operate highly available, observable backend infrastructure for access provisioning and reviews.
• Extend integrations with identity providers such as Okta, including custom roles, entitlement mapping, and infrastructure-as-code management.
• Automate access approval, review, and provisioning workflows with AI-assisted risk scoring, anomaly detection, and self-service capabilities.
• Build developer-friendly chat-based tools for requesting, approving, and auditing access.
• Ensure access controls meet compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering or security platform engineering experience.
• Experience building access management platforms or identity infrastructure from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of identity primitives, least-privilege access, and OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, or SCIM.
• Experience with role-based, policy-based, or attribute-based access control models.
• Experience operating highly available cloud-native infrastructure using AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Okta administration and APIs at scale.
• Experience building Slack-based or chat-ops tools.
• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments such as FedRAMP, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
• Experience in a high-growth startup environment.
