Senior Manager, Engineering (Container Product Engineering)

Location: Remote in the United States; North America or the United Kingdom preferred.

Base salary: $229,000–$258,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Lead and manage a Container Product Engineering team of approximately 15 engineers, organizing work into small sub-teams with clear ownership.
• Own team outcomes across people management, roadmap partnership, technical quality, delivery, planning, and headcount forecasting.
• Guide development of container product features, image build pipelines, registry performance and distribution, and adoption tooling.
• Coach and develop senior, Staff, and Principal engineers; hire, provide feedback, build career paths, and address performance issues.
• Review designs, pull requests, and code while making final technical decisions and contributing hands-on when needed.
• Partner with Product, Program Management, engineering teams, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and customers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams building customer-facing products.
• Experience leading teams of 10+ senior engineers, including Staff and Principal engineers.
• Experience shipping product features to paying customers in a hyper-growth environment and translating ambiguous goals into technical plans.
• Technical fluency with containers, container registries, OCI image format, Kubernetes, Go services, and cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS.
• Experience leading distributed, remote-first teams across North America and Europe with excellent written communication.
• Remote work is based in the United States; North America or the United Kingdom is preferred.

Nice to have

• Linux distribution or packaging experience.
• Experience leading teams through adoption of agentic coding tools.
