Power Systems Engineer

Location: Remote, U.S.-based; 35–50% travel required. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year

What you will do

• Identify retrofit opportunities, define project scope, and support proposals with dealer and factory teams.
• Design, program, test, and commission low- and medium-voltage generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate system performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers on wiring and assembly drawings, perform technical risk assessments, and support field performance.
• Provide technical support, documentation, escalation assistance, and training for technicians, customers, and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of related experience with a BSEET or BSEE, or 4 years of equivalent experience without a degree.
• Knowledge of power systems, switchgear, automatic transfer switches, generator systems, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience with PLC-based automation, HMIs, distributed control systems, and one or more of Modicon/Schneider, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or GE platforms.
• Experience working with engineers, contractors, consultants, and end users.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass required background, drug, and medical checks, including a possible U.S. Government background check.

Nice to have

• HMI experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens, Vijeo, iFix, or Wonderware.
