Senior Business Analyst (Software)

Location: Remote, Latin America; listed location: Cochabamba, Bolivia

What you will do

• Lead stakeholder interviews and discovery workshops with clients and internal teams.
• Document current-state and future-state processes, business rules, data definitions, dependencies, risks, and edge cases.
• Break project scope into estimable epics and stories, and support sizing and proposal work.
• Write Jira user stories and testable acceptance criteria, keeping requirements current throughout two-week sprints.
• Collaborate with Product Management, UI/UX, engineering, and QA on backlog refinement, designs, implementation questions, test coverage, demos, and user acceptance testing.
• Capture compliance, security, and audit requirements, including SOC 2 considerations, and communicate scope tradeoffs to clients.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or in a similar software-project role.
• Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Experience leading discovery sessions and converting ambiguous input into structured requirements.
• Knowledge of business-level process mapping and data modeling, including flows, entities, relationships, and rules.
• Hands-on Jira experience, with familiarity with Figma and collaborative documentation tools.
• Excellent written and spoken English required for leading meetings with U.S. stakeholders. Technical literacy covering APIs, integrations, databases, and system constraints is also required.

Nice to have

• Agency, consultancy, or software services experience with multiple clients.
• Exposure to regulated or compliance-heavy domains such as SOC 2, telecom, education, or fintech.
• Experience documenting third-party integrations and supporting project estimation or proposals.
• Familiarity with Laravel, React, AWS, and web application stacks.
