Emergency Department Technician Full Time MidShift (Healthcare)

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite emergency department role. Full-time mid-shift schedule from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., 72 hours per pay period, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Salary: $22.58–$31.61 per hour

What you will do

• Support registered nurses and emergency physicians with direct and indirect patient care.
• Provide wound care, splinting assistance, patient hygiene, comfort measures, and safe patient positioning.
• Perform ECGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection and processing, bedside waived testing, vital-sign checks, cardiac monitoring, and pulse oximetry.
• Prepare patients and rooms for assessments, diagnostic procedures, and treatment.
• Transport patients, specimens, equipment, and supplies; document care in the medical record.
• Maintain clean, organized, stocked patient rooms and equipment, including items requiring sterilization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to work the specified mid-shift schedule, including alternating weekends and holidays.
• IV initiation, medication administration, intubation, and tracheal suctioning are not approved duties for this position, regardless of certification or licensure.

Nice to have

• Certified Nurse Assistant or EMT-B certification.
• Phlebotomy and ECG skills.
• College degree or interest in healthcare.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
