Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications (Banking)

Location: HQ - San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $70,304-$85,000 per year, plus eligible discretionary bonus and restricted stock unit targets of 10% each.

What you will do

• Develop internal communications strategies and translate business priorities into communication plans.
• Own the monthly colleague newsletter, Staffbase email communications, intranet planning, and enterprise communications governance.
• Support executive and leadership communications through presentations, briefing materials, talking points, FAQs, and message frameworks.
• Lead communications workstreams using Workfront, including project plans, timelines, dependencies, approvals, and stakeholder coordination.
• Use AI-enabled tools to support research, content development, editing, summarization, presentations, and workflow efficiency while protecting confidential information.
• Track channel and program performance, prepare recommendations, and improve audience targeting, content planning, and communication timing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 6+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, employee engagement, marketing, or a related discipline.
• Experience developing internal communications strategies in a complex, cross-functional organization and supporting executive communications.
• Strong strategic planning, program management, stakeholder management, verbal communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Experience managing newsletters, Staffbase, intranet, email, or comparable internal communication channels.
• Experience with Workfront or another project management platform and executive-level PowerPoint presentations.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, banking, or another regulated industry.
• Experience communicating risk, compliance, business performance, mergers and acquisitions, or organizational change.
• Experience with press releases, public relations initiatives, communications analytics, employee feedback, or engagement data.
• Experience building AI-assisted communication workflows, templates, or quality-control processes.
