Information Systems Specialist – Public Sector (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional travel to customer sites.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annual base salary, depending on experience, skills, and certifications.

What you will do

• Support daily operations and troubleshoot information systems in federal and DoD environments.
• Work with Linux and Windows systems, networking, user access, and system configuration.
• Investigate customer issues, document findings, resolve issues within scope, and escalate complex problems.
• Assist with installation, configuration, patching, system hardening, and security-related tasks.
• Maintain system inventories, configuration records, and technical documentation.
• Support compliance activities and build practical knowledge of container security, vulnerability management, and software supply chain technology.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of professional IT experience; military service, internships, co-ops, help desk work, and substantial hands-on lab experience are accepted.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent military technical training.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance are required.
• Foundation in operating systems, networking, security, and technical troubleshooting.
• Clear communication, sound judgment, curiosity, and willingness to learn from experienced team members.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Linux administration or troubleshooting experience.
• Security+ certification or willingness to obtain it if required.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, scripting, or cybersecurity tools.
